The US special interest magazine The Maritime Executive features Proton Motor with a focus on emission-free hydrogen fuel cells "Made in Germany" for maritime mobility. According to the story, the German hightech subsidiary of UK holding specializes in modular systems using graphitic bipolar plates, as only these meet the technical and commercial requirements of the applications.

Proton Motor is enabling ship and maritime manufacturers to realize climate-neutral fuel cell drives. The company equipped the first hydrogen-powered passenger ferry "Alsterwasser" in the Port of Hamburg with green propulsion technology back in 2009.
