Fuel Cell Stacks

The heart of all emission-free hydrogen fuel cell systems from Proton Motor is the so-called “cell stack” or just “stack”. With 25 years of stack manufacturing experience, the internationally active company is one of Europe`s leading suppliers in the field of design and development of its own application-tested proprietary stacks.

  • Proton Motor "HyStack® 200 / 400"

    The current fuel cell stack modules as the core of Proton Motor technology

    The aim of the design, development and production of Proton Motor`s own stack modules HyStack® 200 / 400 is the best possible performance while maximising the service life. We achieve this through:

    • Elaborate fluid dynamic simulations for optimum media and temperature distribution.
    • Continuous monitoring of the supplier market.
    • Selection, testing and benchmarking of the latest technologies in order to always implement and offer the most up-to-date technology for our stacks.

    In close co-operation with major international companies, the key components bipolar plates, GDL (gas diffusion layer) and MEA (membrane electrode assembly) are manufactured specifically for Proton Motor. Each individual HyStack® 200 or HyStack® 400 is subjected to extensive testing processes in Proton Motor’s test field plus at external research institutes in order to prove and ensure the performance and durability.

    Currently, the two fuel cell modules HyStack® 200 / 400 are available in the Proton Motor portfolio, which are installed in systems or plants on a project- and order-related basis. Further information can be found on the downloadable Fact Sheets or contact our Sales Team!
