● Extensive testing procedure selects Proton Motor from among its competitors ●
Puchheim near Munich, October 12, 2020 – The maritime sector is testing alternative propulsion systems through the use of greenhouse gas-reduced energy sources. A European shipbuilding company has now awarded a new order to the Bavarian hydrogen fuel cell expert “Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH” (www.proton-motor.de). With its market leadership for graphite bipolar plated fuel cells generating power output up to 73 kW, Proton Motor prevailed over competitors such as “PowerCell” from Sweden in an extensive selection process lasting several months.
„This is significant news given that Proton Motor was the first international manufacturer to a power passenger ferry in the port of Hamburg between 2009 and 2014 with a 50 kW hydrogen fuel cell system. The order means a great achievement for us as well as a further sign of recognition in the shipbuilding segment.“, commented Proton Motor CEO Dr. Faiz Nahab on receiving the new maritime contract.
