At the Hanover World Fair 2023 starting today, the participation of the H2 Key Player Proton Motor (booth no. B32/hall 13, trend section “Hydrogen & Fuel Cells”) dedicated to hydrogen fuel cells for alternative power and heat generation. The use of hydrogen fuel cells has proven particularly effective as a replacement for conventional diesel gensets in emergency power supply applications for critical infrastructures (CRITIS).
For example, the innovative fuel cell solution implemented by Proton Motor with an integrated HyModule® S8 system has been working smoothly since it was commissioned in 2018. The pilot project was produced for the co-operation partner DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH in order to ensure an uninterruptible power supply for the railway interlocking in Soemmerda, Thuringia, in the event of a power failure.
KNF Neuberger GmbH also addresses the stationary CRITIS application scope in its recently published article “Power from hydrogen for infrastructure”. For the purpose of hydrogen recirculation, which is decisive for the efficiency of the energy system, the Bavarian fuel cell expert uses KNF pumps.
